I read the reviews and used the trial versions of PowerDirector, Corel Visual Studio and Magix Movie Edit Pro. To start, I was prejudiced towards Corel - they got the #1 rating here and Corel has been around. My PC - 2.3mhz dual core, 4gb ram, 320 hd

So I downloaded and created a home video using the trial version. At first I had problems with it crashing while playing my AVCHD camera videos on my Windows Vista, QuadCore CPU 2.4GHz PC. However, after I updated the drivers to my Intel G33/G31 graphics

Magix software is horrible -- buyer beware! This application is loaded with bugs and is poorly documented. Magix quality control for their software is basically non-existent. If you're masachistic and enjoy purchasing software that leads to hours of frustration, then buy this software; otherwise, avoid the headaches. My review for this software is two thumbs down!

The main problem I have with Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 is that they tell you what you can do without telling how to do it. Several instances in the manual tell you to click on a particular drop down but I can't find anything by that name or what they're referring to or it is called something different than what the Manual indicates. You spend a lot of time wondering just what to do next. Videos are rendered very well and I had no trouble saving under different file types. There are too many transitions here to mention but in some instances I couldn't figure out how to remove the transition which is a snap in Corel's Video Studio. All in all, Magix has a pretty good product here, it's just that it would take the patience of the Pope to figure it all out.
